Volunteer With The Greene County Food Pantry
Our food pantry is only possible due to volunteers from our community. We welcome individuals and groups in helping us achieve our goal to end hunger in Greene County. Our volunteers generally arrive between 8:30-9:00am on days that our pantry is open (Monday, Wednesday, Friday – 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. until October 1st)
Please take a look at these volunteer opportunities, then fill out the Volunteer form. We will contact you shortly.

Get hands-on experience by helping sort, inspect, and package donated food and groceries at the Greene County Food Pantry. Volunteers assist with weighing and checking expiration dates, organizing items, filling food bags for distribution, and packing frozen meat on designated days. You'll also help clients carry items to their vehicles. This is a great opportunity for both individuals and groups, but please note it involves moderate lifting (5–35 lbs.) and standing for extended periods.
-
Help behind the scenes, assisting with food drives. Provide essential administrative support through tasks like greeting clients, filing, and mailings. This low-impact opportunity is ideal for individual volunteers rather than large groups.

Use your writing and organizational skills to support the pantry through grant applications and fundraising efforts. This role plays a key part in helping us secure the resources needed to serve our community.
